Speakers from industry are recruited to speak to groups of students, parents or educators and provide information about various careers.	6–12	1–2 hrs

Career Fairs
An event where multiple employers may present and display information about their companies in a booth-type setting.	K–12	2–4 hrs

Workplace Tour
Walking tour of workplace to introduce work environment to students. Often includes a brief description of overall business.	6–12	1–2 hrs

Service Learning
An instructional method that combines community service with academic study. Conducted in not-for-profit locations.	High School	2–20 hrs per week

	Grade	Time Required
Job Shadowing:
Students in groups of one to three are assigned to an individual employee in the company in order to learn more in-depth about a particular occupation or career.	6–12	2–8 hrs

Internships:
Students earn school credit while working in your company. Developed on an individual basis between school and the employers for a specific period of time and may or may not be compensated.	High School	Varies

Mentoring:
Worksite mentors serve as coaches, advisors and role models to students.	High School	1–2 hrs per week

Apprenticeships:
This is a registered on-the-job training program for students working towards a degree or certification.	High School and Beyond	1+ yrs

Mock Interviews:
Employers put students through a simulation hiring process in order for them to gain experience with resumes and interviewing	High School	2–8 hrs
