  Grade Time Required
Career Speakers    
Speakers from industry are recruited to speak to groups of students, parents or educators and provide information about various careers. 6–12 1–2 hrs
     
Career Fairs    
An event where multiple employers may present and display information about their companies in a booth-type setting. K–12 2–4 hrs
     
Workplace Tour    
Walking tour of workplace to introduce work environment to students. Often includes a brief description of overall business. 6–12 1–2 hrs
     
Service Learning    
An instructional method that combines community service with academic study. Conducted in not-for-profit locations. High

Job Shadowing:    
Students in groups of one to three are assigned to an individual employee in the company in order to learn more in-depth about a particular occupation or career. 6–12 2–8 hrs
