Have You Checked Your Child's EDP Lately? The Importance of Checking Your Child's EDP

Beginning in the 7th grade, did you know that each student in Kent County is required to begin their Educational Development Plan (EDP)?  And then it should be updated each year after.

An EDP is an ongoing record of the educational and career planning steps a student should take to achieve their career goal.

It includes:

Career Planning Steps

Educational/Training Goals

Assessments

Work-Based Learning Experiences

Course Selection.

As a parent, you should ask to review your child’s EDP at least once a year. Your child’s success doesn’t just happen.  It takes attention, effort and planning.  And you should be part of that.
